My SweatP gave birth to triplets on 10/26. We are weaning them now, and i noticed this morning that her udder felt odd. Kind of reminded me of chapped lips. I imagine it is not very comfortable. I was wondering if there is anything i can do that is safe for the kids. I have udder balm, was just concerned about putting on with them nursing now and again. (Or do you think that taste would help deter them nursing, which may not be such a bad thing at this point).

I would try some bag balm. You can usually get it at the local feed really well! I would think it might keep the kids off, but I would try and keep it away from the teat if possible so they don't take any in.

Most bag balms are ok to use on nursing does...I've used the "original" green can for years with no ill effects on kids.
