The strange problems with owning multiple species: This white leghorn hen thought she would help my horse eat her breakfast. She got snatched up by horse teeth and tossed. Lost a few tailfeathers but otherwise okay. Wonder if she'll try again at supper feed?

When we had chickens, they tried to steal goat feed. The one old doe despised chickens. That stupid hen got tossed more times than I could count. The doe would wait for that hen, then stalk her and grab her. The hen came to a bad end, either she didn't land right and got strepped on or the doe actually stomped her, but she was pretty flat when I found her. Don't get between a goat and her dinner! (The old doe died many years ago, but she was a great doe, except to chickens, man, she hated them!)

Gizmo "plays" with my white layer. He butts her. But not because she wants his food but because he can.
