Re: CINNA HAS NO LIGAMENTS!!!!
Ok, I can finally give you all the low down!
Cinna started labor at 10:00 am and it was right away that the first one presented. The first and second ones were butt first. The third and fourth were head first. We pulled all four of them out because Cinna is netorious for having breeched births (last year we lost one due to it) so, this year, we vowed that if the presentation was anything but normal, we would pull them out.
The first one was a male and the smallest of the bunch,\. He got hypothermic quickly and still isnt 100% but getting there. All the others were cold but other wise ok. It was about 36 degrees this morning.
We pulled 2 off of her (the smallest bay and one of the girls that was showing signs of being a bit weak). We have LifeLine colostrum and they are getting that (wanted to make sure the other 2 we left on mom had enough colostrum so we didnt want to chance it by milking out mom). The girl we pulled is eating GREAT!! THe boy however, is a bit slow. While Im able to get some milk down him, its not a lot.
The other 2 we left on mom are doing great! They are warm, fat and nursing well. It seems like they both favor one side of the udder but I think that will work itself out.
HERE ARE THE PICS!!!!
First one (Buck :boy: -pulled for bottle feeding):
Second one (DOE :girl: -left on mom):
Thrid one (Doe :girl: -pulled for bottle feeding):
Fourth one (Buck :boy: -left on mom):
What do you guys think?
