We have been watching Gypsy for signs of labor. Yesterday, she looked posty, but no babies, today, her ligs are soft, her vulva is blossomed, and there is clear discharge. He udder looks sweet! I am so excited!! She is a first freshener, bred too young, so I am anxious to get her babes on the ground!!
Any ideas on kidding? I know she will go when she's ready, but I really want to be there for her!! Ideas??
I will get pics in a bit and see if Olivia will post them for me  I am quite a dork when it comes to posting pics!

I'm sure she'll be just fine! My Angel wasn't quite 9 months old when she delivered a single doeling...all on her own

Sheesh! Nine months! I never planned her to be bred so young, but she was bred when I got her, just didn't know.
She is laying down alot, each time I go to check..she is not nesting or pawing, just laying..ooooh I can't wait!! Glad I don't have plans till Sunday!!

Be prepared for the kidding. Have all of your supplies near, paper towels, towels etc. Make sure that the mucus is clear of the kid's nose so they won't suffocate. We give a couple of CC's of selenium and e gel to help right away. But the main thing is to make sure the does teats are open and the kid gets colostrum ASAP preferrably within 30 minutes of hitting the ground. GOOD LUCK!!! You'll do great! Hope this helps.

I am just a nervous grandma! I actually do this kind of stuff for a living
(Vet Tech) but when it comes to my animals, especially my dotes..
I need my 12 yr old to help me!! haveing baby goats freaks me out!
I can do any other animal on the planet...but baby goats just freak me out :worried:
We will be fine though..Hannah is a great goat mid wife
    Thanks for your help!
Olivia is BUZY  so I will try to get pics up of the Gypsy's Chacha
