Do you use regular electric clippers for the job? I have one I used to use on my kids (human) was wondering if thats okay...also how soon before kidding do you trim. Bella (togg) is very very hairy and I would like to be able to see down there.

I use either the cheap pet clippers or the ones you can get for $15...Wahl I think mine are....I normally will do the trimming at 3 weeks away from the due dates, it helps with keeping mom clean after the birth too.

for a body clip you want to have some good animal clippers and a #10 blade

but yes you can use a human clipper with no attachments for the udder - if you use it on the body it will be REALLY short

human clippers work.. though when i graduated i splurged and bought really nice lasor laube clippers and a 40 blade for udders... thanks to bebop i now get to buy a new40 blade.. but i went through probably 4-5 cheaper clippers before i bought the new ones, but i had alot of goats to clip
