Hydration will also be key. She needs about a gallon of water today. If she won't drink on her own, you'll need to hydrate her either subq with a bag of fluids, or stomach tube. You can use a very large syringe or turkey baster orally if she is swallowing well but it's tough to get a whole gallon in that way.

Keep up the hard work. If you can get a helper to stand her up once a day that will really help. Offer pine boughs if she'll nibble at them.

I've actually gotten an old baby stroller that I have transformed into a sling of sorts and yes I'm rolling her and propping her constantly I'm sure she's getting extremely spoiled and or tired of me. Thank you so much for helping me with her. I second guess myself constantly. I lost one to listeriosis and one to milk fever and one to polio last year. I am looking into new diets and possibly new hay providers. I thought this year I was so on top of everything guess now What do you think about the cydectin? I live inCatawba va and my some of my pen is wet a lot.

Yes, two spots SQ is better for the injections. I so glad she’s chewing her cud, that’s a step forward.
Personally, I like cydectin but use the kind for sheep. Maybe you can post your feeding routine to your healthy goats and we can point you in the right direction. There’s quite a few folks from CA and they might help you find good suppliers.
Good job though. I have one who won’t drink electrolytes either so on a whim I mixed two packets of propel in a 16ox water bottle and drenched him with it and he couldn’t drink it fast enough. You can also try yellow Gatorade, a lot of folks here do that too in a pinch. Getting her to drink I’d really important. So anything works at this point.

Cydectin is an effective dewormer in the correct form. Not the purple cattle pour on..but cydectin sheep drench, or Quest horse paste are both good choices. Quest is the strongest and needs to be dosed careful at 1 cc per 100 pounds. The paste stays in the system longer so boosters should wait 21 days at least.

B complex is fine sub q ...so glad she's chewing her cud. You're doing good!

Overdosing is OK, they will pee out what they don't need.

I Read tht you give the cattle pour on in their mouth it is nasty smelling stuff & that is what the vet recommended,but now I am really not trusting him.

It's actually common for some vets to say to use it. My vet did too and I did before I learned about the sheep drench. It's nasty but it does work.
You can just grab the quest for when's she's due for her next dose but remember it's 1cc per 100lbs so put it in a needle-less syringe to measure to her exact weight. Don't guess.

My feeding routine is simple maybe that where I am messing up. I use medicated alfalfa grain and a sweet feed (from tractor supply) and hay in the winter. I worm when famacha says to and had been using ivermectin. In the summer I only give enough of the feed mix to make friends w them and they have 2 pastures I rotate @ 6 acres. I have 14 goats total. I know they need more space but this is what I have. I have no bucks therefore no more breeding.

It is effective but their are other choices that don't require dumping harsh chemicals designed to adhere to a cows Hyde down our goats gut. So I prefer to recommend better choices.

For feeding..if everyone is retired..no babies..no milk and in good condition a quality hay and simple alfalfa pellets along with free choice loose minerals would be all they need. If they are bred, in milk or on the thin side..a quality 14% pellet feed would do. Sweet feed is like getting fruit loops for your kids lol while yummy..its full of unneeded sugars and fillers.
Always make feed changes slowly over a weeks time at least.

I purchased the pour on kind (expensive) would it be ok to give to my bigger goats tht May have a better tolerance to the nasty stuff and give my smaller younger ones the sheep version?
