We are getting ready to have some cold temps here in TN. It is supposed to be 27 degrees in the morning and Saturday. I have put straw in a house for them. But they won't go in it. Their fur is thick. And they look like fuzzy bears. Will they be ok on the ground with straw spread out?

You can spread straw on the ground. They should be ok. Wouldn't be surprised if they use their house when it gets colder.

Several years ago my Boer gals had access to a nice building. They preferred sleeping under the hay rack even when it was snowing.

I have come to find out these critters are way different from any other animal I've ever had. Don't know if I will ever figure them out. Lol

They do have a tendency to be independent! It has to get really cold before my goats use their shelter. Now, let it start raining or snowing hard and they can't get under it fast enough!
