My goats have had a cough since some time last summer! Sometimes it's worse then other times but it's still there. They seem perfectly healthy other than the coughs. I have treated them with two rounds of antibiotics and i tried to just wait it out but they still have it! Sometimes they get a little diarrhea and a snotty nose with it. Does anyone know what to do? Im wanting to get some more goats but don't want them to get sick with it!

lung worms or liver flukes? I had my herd coughing on an off, thought lung worms but didnt work finally treated for liver flukes and yes it worked. but yours can just have allergies too?
[/QUOTE Would it be okay to treat them for Liver flukes and lung worms? What medication did you use for those? I have their hay and grain in my chicken shed, the chickens can't poop on it but if you have ever had chickens you know will make a lot of dust, could that be it? I just don't know why they have had diarrhea with it once or twice, could that be liver flukes? There are a good bunch of questions! Lol! Thank you!

Chickens do put up a lot of nasty stuff with scratching up dust… is there a way to section the chickens off?
The couching could be due to the dust in the air especially where they’ve been indoors more due to weather…
Have you been giving them immune boosting support such as vitamin C and garlic? Dried oregano?

Thanks so much! Did you ever find a something that got rid of it?
Nope. Still working on it. 😒 I'll update my thread once I have more information. I still haven't gotten around to doing the lungworm test.

They aren't inside with the chickens just their food. Could that do it? The chickens cant get on or in their feed the dust from the chickens just gets on it.

It's kind of weird because the last time they had diarrhea was in the summer. Could it be there lungs are irritated by the dust i the hay and they cough and then they were sick with something else at the same time? Because when they had diarrhea with it the antibiotics mad it go away.
