Thanks all for previous help, our little guy Levi had contracted tendons at birth and has had splints on for a week seems he is better but not 100%, he is at least walking on his toes not his knuckles but we aren't sure if we should resplint him or will it get better by itself now he is on his feet?

Has he had selenium/Bose? That should help, I have a gel that I get from any livestock place online. Bose is a selenium shot that you have to get from a vet, but it gets into their system faster.

Selenium is no help with contracted tendons, it is a birth defect. I had a foal born with contracted tendons and paid tens of thousands of dollars for his surgery, splints, and the whole 9 yards, and they never could correct it.

If you really want to try, you can resplint him but it may not work.

Contracted tendons can also be how he was positioned in the womb. I agree on a BoSe shot if he hasn't had one.
