The wheat germ is very slowly helping my doe - along with LOTS of brushing. ALL my girls were dandruffy this year. I love the idea of doing the wheat germ oil WITH cod liver oil. I will definitely be doing that next time. It occurred to me that if humans get get vitamin D deficiency living up North (I'm in Maine), then goats can too. I might even try some sort of vitamin d treatment throughout the winter to see if that helps prevent this from happening again.

I'll also add that shaving the fur down so air can get to the skin helps as well. My girls who were show shaved are looking much better than my other girls.
Yes, the cod liver oil for vitamins A and D is unparalleled!

That’s a good point with people getting vit D deficient there, so maybe the same holds true for goats. It’ll be interesting to see if you supplement over winter, how your doe does come spring again. I know it’s a ways off, but you’ll have to let us know if you see a difference.

And great work. I’m so glad she’s improving!
