One of my does milk started tasting off at the end of June. After reading on here about minerals and copper deficiencies affecting the taste of milk I took her to the vet for blood work to check. I just got the results back and he said her copper levels were way to high and to switch her to a sheep and goat feed instead of the goat feed I was feeding.

So... Can too MUCH copper have a negative effect of the milks taste?

Apparently so. Your soil must have plenty of copper in it. You will have to let us know how it works out.

I'm taking her to the breeder I bought her from tomorrow. We're going out of town for a couple of weeks and were going to switch the girls back to the sweet feed she had them on to see if that helps. I don't feed my horses sweet feed so I figured 'goat feed for goats'... I guess we'll see when I get back.
