So I am thinking about using corn fodder for bedding this year as my goats are in a larger pen and it is considerably cheaper than shavings. Is fodder ok to bed down goats with? The farmer I'm getting it from is my uncle-he doesn't let it sit outside-so would that mean mold isn't a worry??

We sometimes feed the dried left-overs of maize plants to goats. It's also an additive to fodder pellets which increases the fibre content. I don't think there should be any problem with this, Not sure what the thermo-properties of this material are, though.
