I am no expert but with no other symptoms mentioned one would assume all else is fine with this goat. In my Ober boy's case a dry intermittent cough and an exertional cough turned out to be allergies. It comes and goes, sometimes with runny eyes and alittle runny nose. He never seems sick. The vet thinks he is fine.

Hello,

lungworms - among other things - can cause cough. So you should either worm him with an appropriate wormer or have a fecal test done to check for lungwurms.

Next thing could be a cold from weather changes: rain, fog, drastic changes between day and night temperatures.

Mold, dust in the hay

Does he have fever, what quality has the cough - dry, wet, laboured, etc.?
