Ok, so I have this doeling..By the way I will NEVER again have babies in the winter!! She started having a runny nose, a couple of weeks ago. Not a big deal, kept an eye on her, noting serious. A few days ago, I ended up bringing her inside, due to her having a nasty cough! Our weather her has been freezing , warm, snowing, flooding, raining, then back to freezing blowing snow...My barn is small and all my does are sleeping in it. The babies have heat lamps, and warm dry bedding.. Oh, she has a little fever when I brought her inside, 104.7...so I gave flocillin, val syrup, herbal immune builder, herbal dewormer, and albon. I had a feeling she may have coccidia, and I was right. She was teeming with coccidia, I thought it was pneumonia, but her lungs sound crystal clear.. So now I am down to treating the cocci, and cough.. I am going crazy over this cough and it won't stop.. I really want to put her back out but need her to be better! Oh, and by the way she is due to go to her new home next week.. So, any ideas on the cough!!? Thanks!
If you're treating the cocci with sulfa, that should also be good for pneumonia. If she continues to cough, I would treat with Nuflor. When a kid is weakened by cocci, it can get other illnesses such as pneumonia.
