Are these mom raised? if not what are you feeding them and how much? If you can, get the C&D Antitoxin, and give it to all of the kids asap. This is short acting, but it last for a few weeks and doesn't need the second shot to take effect. Then you need to get baking soda into any that seem bloated, doesn't matter the amount just as much as you can, rub their rumen ( tummy on left side) If it is tight or you can feel the gas KEEP RUBBING WITH SOME FORCE. That will probably cause them to burp. That is a great sign!

If it's enterotoximia (sp?) the only thing that would them is a double dose of the Antitoxin. It's great stuff to have on hand just in case...

you wont see bloating with enterotoximia all of the time though, they are two seperate things caused by the same, overfeeding or change in feed. I'm betting you are just dealing with the bloat however. Baking soda goes down better if you wet it a little with water so it clumps and you can make little balls to give them. Leave some out free choice for all of your goaties. Good luck! ((((hugs))))so sorry you lost one! :(

Did you consider floppy kid syndrome? they are about the right age for it, and you usually find bloated dead kids. Baking soda is the treatment for it, I usually just make a little ball and put it in their mouths. A great remedy for bloat(idk if this works on kids though) is if you take a piece of twine or rope and put it in their mouth(like you would a bit) and make them chew on it, eventually they will have to burp from chewing on the rope.
