Discharge day 80

763 Views 19 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  toth boer goats
My doe is about 80 days pregnant and she had thick, off white discharge today. I’ve been reading up on it but wanted to double check with y’all. It couldn’t be her plug could it? She’s not due until May 29. (Definitely pregnant, the girl is big already so she’s most likely gonna have three!!)

That is too early for the plug.
I thought so, what could it be? Is it normal?
They do have discharge. Unless you are seeing problems, I wouldn't worry about it.

Is the doe running a fever and/or does the discharge have an off smell?

I t is possible she lost her pregnancy and is in season with that discharge.
Is she poofy in the vulva area, tail wagging a lot at all?

I would have a pregnancy test or if you have a buck test her and see if she is interested in him from the other side of the fence to him.

I had a doe do the same thing. She's due in two weeks and has had a slight whitish discharge for about a month and a half. She's healthy and kids are still moving. She's developing like I would expect a normal pregnancy to. My buck isn't interested in the least. I'll let you know how the kidding goes, so you might know what you expect.

Hi everyone! I’m sorry I haven’t responded! I’ve felt lots of kicks the past 10 days especially so I know the kids are healthy and she hasn’t aborted. Today is day 100 and she had a LOT of white mucous on her tail, and her back end has been puffy the past few days. Is this normal so early in pregnancy? Again, I know she is pregnant because I feel the kids moving (positive it’s not digestion).

I haven’t taken her temp but haven’t noticed any smell.

White discharge is normal.
Today is day 105 and she had a LOT of clear discharge. Is this normal? She’s never had discharge until like 2 weeks before her due date!
(there is more on her privates in the picture, that’s why I say a LOT)

It looks normal to me.

Is it goopy or more like liquid?
You already seem to be watching her closely. That's all that I would do. Just make sure she seems to be herself with no bloody discharge or contractions from day to day. That's all that I think you can do at this point anyway. 😉

My doe that had the same thing just had twins. They both had pooped in their sacks and one came nose first, but nothing serious. So hopefully it goes easy for you.

Definitely not liquid. I’m keeping a close eye on her and she’s acting totally normal! Just a little uncomfortable! (;

(Uncomfortable meaning she looks like a watermelon and probably feels like one, haha!)
