So I will preface by saying I'm a first time goat owner! I bred a goat last Fall. She should be about 3 months pregnant if it took. I had not noticed any estrus behavior between then and now, no discharge, riding, flagging. Nothing. So I assumed she is pregnant. Yesterday however she has opaque white/offwhite discharge, kinda looked like Elmer's glue. No odor. Today the discharge is gone. A week prior to that it seemed like her tail was a liiiitle gunky? Not as much as when she was in heat last fall but, it reminded me of that (when the tail fur gets a lil dirty on the edges). No clear stringy discharge or anything like that though. I check all my does rear ends every day lol. I hadn't noticed anything with this doe until now. Is occasional discharge normal during pregnancy? I have a couple other does I purchased bred and they never have any discharge and they're 2-3 months pregnant as well. Thoughts?
Pretty normal for goats to have some discharge when they're pregnant. It gets more and more common as they get closer to their due date.
Yep, I had a doe that started having that type of discharge in her 3rd month up until kidding pretty consistently. Always seemed like there was a tiny bit of white gop. Two healthy boys. Hope it keeps going well for you and your does have happy kids.
Thank you for commenting! That makes me feel a bit better lol. Gonna keep a close eye on her for now. Fingers crossed.
Your so welcome. Need any more help let us know. And keep us updated if you want, would love to see babies when they come!
