I am looking to purchase some awards for our Colorado State fair. I do it every year and I am running out of ideas. Some of the things that I have done over the years, is Embroidered on stadium blankets (Grand Champion Doe 2008 Colorado State Fair), just a example Had dinner plates etched on Tote bags embroidered on Directors chairs embroidered on. Hay bags embroidered on. OK, I am out of ideas for this year and the time is getting to close. Now I have to find things that would go for both boys and girls, I have thought of sweatshirt but the person could be a X Small to a X Large, so that would not work. If anyone has any ideas that you can think of please let me know. :thankU: :thankU: :thankU:
trust me I feel your pain embroidered rugs (for the goats, either large dog or foal size) free photo of the winning goat, from a professional photographer free sketch of the winning goat, from a person who sketches animals or just a sketched picture (goat themed obviously), in a frame (that was a big hit at our show this year) Might think of more tomorrow (actually today! lol) but its 1am and I need to go to bed!
Thanks Keren, Great ideas. I was contacted already to have sketches done. Anyone else. See I do not have a lot of money to put to these awards. I usually donate 10 awards, so you can see how that gets a little pricey.
would It cost alot to have a as keren said- a goat blanket, or halter? it'd look great across a noseband.
you could do some custom dog collars that have Grand Champion etc. on them or you could get some wood and make hay things that fit in the corner of the show pens that say Grand Champion etc or maybe some carry-all bags like they use at horse shows that are embroidered
I thought of the halters and Collars but first of all we do not use collars, and the halters are all different sizes. I thought about the goat blanket also, but again they are all so different is sizes, and not everyone will use them, (it smashes the fiber). I have done the hay feeder bag that is made of canvas. Great ideas, keep the coming.
I am a ball cap kind of gal.....what about embroidered ball caps.....I have a slew of caps, no bad hair days for me in the summer....pull my hair up in a pony tail and slap a cap on and I'm ready to go! If you did denim caps they would be gender friendly  ! I suggest ones with the velcro back strap, really easy for gals with pony tails :thumb: !
I was starting to think the same thing. I might have to do that. I was thinking about ball caps also.
I, personally, really like the director's chair thing. They are functional, and you can really never have too many, there's almost always someone that needs a place to sit!
I have thought of them also, but I know most kids would rather have something they can use, rather then collect dust. But that is a good idea, I might have to check int that is I can not think of anything else. Great ideas, please keep them coming.
How about: metal signs with a barn name painted on to hang in the barn? Coffee mug or travel mug with the picture of the handler, goat, and ribbon? Barn Stationairy with a picture on it or barn logo? * I had made spiral notbooks with a persons favorite goat picture on it and gave it as a gift and it wasn't expensive at all *
What about hand made coupons for either services like, combing, shearing, feeding etc or even gift cards for purchase of feed or better yet....Brushes with woodburned symbol or words appropriate as the prize.
