We only have cats here and they don't have courage to even come closer to the doeThat looks like a bite. Could she have been attacked by a dog? Keep a close eye on your goat pens. Looks like there's a predator hanging around.
Oh, that sounds like bot flies. They look similar to bumble bees and their larva gets planted under the host's skin. When the larva hatch, they leave holes that look like puncture wounds from a bite. Yuck! I have no advice since I have never personally dealt with bot flies before. Hopefully the medicine your vet gave you will fix the problem!Called vet
He said that the bees eggs has hatched here and some worms have gone inside this hole. He puts some medicine inside and told me to check tomorrow as there will be a lot of worms outside so I have to clean the place and spray some antioxidant (herbal)
If it was me, I'd certainly give the antitoxin.... anything more than a scratch feels risky to meI have a question @Hasankhurshid29 @Aasiya @toth boer goats @Damfino , Since this goat is not vaccinated against tetanus, can tetanus enter through a wound like this on the tail? Would it be wise to give the tetanus antitoxin to her?
