You can also buy b complex tablets at any pharmacy they might take a little longer to work but if it is not really an emergency they also have b-1 and others that might help

this is a bit of an old thread.... I know mine sprained it. my doe likes to jump up really high when going down hill, then kick her legs around. sometimes she doesn't land on her feet properly, then limps around with a swollen hock. this has happened twice.

what I do now is leave her in her pen for a few days (she glares at me), then give her inflammation reducing foods (I like to treat as herbally as possible...). vit C and garlic. no aspirin or else she'll use the leg before it is healed. after a few days, I let her out with supervision and make sure she stays off the hill until she's close to 100%.....

anyway, hope your doe feels better soon!

question. I have heard tons about garlic being good for so many things with goats. Mastitis. anti-inflammatory. So could I give the doe garlic powder or does it need to be the blub of the garlic(not a gardener so I don't know if its called that) or the leaves? I have all of the above and would love to help this doe all I can. If I can give garlic powder(my preference) how much should I give her?

I just decided 2 give her around the same amount as half a garlic bulb. haven't seen a change yet.

She kidded so she was kept in the barn with limited movement with other goats. She is doing much much better about 5-6 days ago the hock stopped being so hot and it just got better from there. The swelling went down and she began to to put weight on it. Now she walks on it fine. Soooooooo happy. Thanks for all your help guys
