Well, long time no see, friends! Been a minute since I've posted. I went out today to hang with 3 of my goats who are in their own pen, and I noticed a small lump with a scab over it on my doe, Xena. To me, it looks like an infected bug bite and we have a lot of ticks in the area, but the location of the bump gave me pause. There's no pus to test, but I was considering having a vet over to blood test her to be safe.
She's rooming with two other "strictly pet" goats so she's already away from my breeding animals. We haven't come in contact with any goats off the farm, and I have shoes that are only for my property to try to maintain some biosecurity. All of our animals have come from tested herds, but I still know sometimes these things can pop up.
Was hoping to catch some opinions on it. The area around it looks wet since I cleaned it off to look for any pus and to clean it in case it is an infected bite.
