I got close enough to my Buck to see his ear tag...it has TX with a series of numbers. If I understand right the first series is a farm id#. Underneath is a series of numbers 0001. Could somebody please tell me what the second # means?? Just curious!! Thanks!! :ponder:

Sometimes the # doesnt mean a thing except for ID purposes. Folks do use it as a sequence, onotherwords oo1 could be the first one born that year.
If there's a bunch to do it can be hassle to make sure theyre in the right order.
(raises hand) I just write down who belongs to who & what the # is.
