I have a bottle of Prosta-Mate (Lutalyse sp?) that expired this year and I am wondering if it would still be safe to use? I know with the FDA everything must have an expiration date. As an example, Bach Flowers do not expire but they need an expiration date labeled anyways. So I am wondering if this can also be true in some cases with medicines? I realize because it has expired that it may not work but I'm mainly concerned if it expiring will make it dangerous or cause ill effects? Just curious, I was going to throw it out but thought to ask first. . . Thanks!

My vet told me that expiration dates on medicines are usually there just so that you buy more. The only thing I personally will not use after an expiration date is a vaccine, as it is "live".
