I have a doe and some others that have really dry skin. I’ve really noticed it with her tho. I brushed her with a flea comb to check for lice/mite and i did find a few so i’ve treated the whole herd. When i did brush her clumps and clumps of hair came off and scaly skin. Some of my other does have some balding patches too. I don’t think the lice is apart of the scaly and flaking skin but could be the cause of some of the balding. Is there anything that could help with this? It’s worrying me because she looks poor and has lost some weight but she did have kids recently too.
I feed a 16% protein kid and goat feed from the local feed store. They have free choice grass hay and costal hay for a few hours a day. They also have a mineral block but now that i think about it doesn’t seem like they have been messing with it as much as they did the last one. I may switch to loose mineral.
