Fatening up.

What can you give to older wethers to add some fat on them that does not cause UC?
Currently they get free choice mineral, grass hay, and periodic grazing during the day.
We are also worming them and ordered an herbal toner out of Hoegger's supply.

Hello,

do they really (!) need to gain weight? What's their body condition score?

Give them time. After worming it can take some weeks for them to visibly gain weight while they already fill their internal fat storages.

Using fats such as blackoil sunflower seeds or even a little corn oil on some grain can up the calories without adding UC problems. Even buying feeder peanuts for the birds and giving the goats a couple of handfuls a day will help.
