My neighbors just got their first two goats! Sibling wether/doeling Saanan LaMancha crosses born in March. I have been mentoring them and showing them what to do. They asked me if they can feed Barley to their goats, since they will have A LOT of it soon, after harvesting their feild. Can goats eat Barley? I told them their goats are thin, you can see bones, I wormed them yesterday with Noromectin, will come worm again in a week or so. Eyelids and gums look good, so I just think they didn't have enough food. Told them to feed some high quality grass hay to start. Would barley help gain some weight? Or what is another option to help gain weight that is safe for both does and wether? Calf Manna? BOSS? Beet Pulp? I figure a mix of all those would be ok... They don't want to mess with the calcium/phosphorus thing either. So if they do a mix, how much of each, and how much per goat?

Not sure. It's going to be harvested in the next week or two.
