Crazy around here now :GAAH:

I have a 20 foot pvc feeder that they can eat from either side and man it is a mad house when feed comes out. The babies really are eating good now and they want to eat with their dams even though they have a creep feed area.

Oh my gosh do I feel your pain. We use to feed at an open trough like that until my sanity was tried. Haha Then we used a cattle panel idea. Loved that until kidding season came and all the kids would dance in the trough making feeding time hard again. So I finally gave in and opened up a stall for kids. Pour out their feed, they would all go up, close the stall door and leave them up while I feed the main herd. Then turn them loose when all is done.

Here's our trough...

Now that most of the spring kids have left and only our retained kids and new ones are here its so much quieter. My retained kids are all pretty much too big to fit through the panels anymore so they volunteer to wait at the gate and come up at feed time with me and go strait to their stall. I love it when they learn the routine and make feed time easy. :D

trob1 - I love that picture! I love the ones that have to stand in the feeder. I'm very envious of you lush green pasture... we are in a drought (again) and have pretty much dirt and brown grass with little bits of green thrown in to tease me.

Sweet Gum Minis - that's a great idea for a feeding area. I'm looking for better ideas than what I've got and that one might work.
