My first set of babies has arrived!! :leap: I'm so excited! :wahoo: I missed seeing them born, even with all the watching I did, but they arrived safe and sound. It was probably for the best anyway, I would have been stressed out watching, especially with both the doe and myself being 'first timers".

CONGRATULATIONS They are adorable....and seeing that mom is a pygmy agouti pattern....hmmm, can I assume that theres a hint of nigerian in these little ones? Adorable.

I had noticed the picture in your signature, and how similar in color your goat in the center is to mine. So that's called 'agouti' then? Both kids look just like Dad, and I have had some suggestions that he could be a Nigerian...here's a picture of him

The best thing about the babies is that they already have a hone with my friend, so will be right down the road. Being our first ones it's already hard to imagine not keeping them, but I really don't need to have two more whethers.

My buck has been whethered, he's such a friendly little guy that we wanted to have hime as a pet, but the smell made that a little less pleasant than it is now. I think I have a Boer buck lined up for my other girls, could I let him breed this little Pygmy doe without risk of the kids being too big?

I don't think so. Most Pygmies are chubby and would have problems kidding. My pygmy doe had huge triplets sired by a pygmy buck and we lost her. And she had done fine before. I wouldn't reccomend it at all.

Looks like the sire is a Nigerian.
