You are either going to have to hold mom to let him nurse or milk mom and keep working on the bottle feeding. You can try giving mom a shot of Banamine. Sometimes pain stops them from letting kids nurse.
First time mom
My nannie had her first baby yesterday and she will not let him drink. When he tries she takes her horns to him (not rough kinda rubs him with them). We got some milk and colostrum out of her and tried to feed him but he won’t latch the bottle so we slowly gave him an ounce. Next time he still wouldn’t take the bottle so we did the same thing. I’m concerned and need help on what to do

I would bounce the mom just to make absolutely sure she doesn’t have any more kids in her, sometimes they won’t let kids nurse until they are done kidding... Bottle feeding can take time or try holding the mom

I was thinking the same thing. Please bump/bounce her or wash your hands off, put a surgical glove on (if you have any), lube up (coconut/mineral oil or something like that if you don’t have any birthing lube) and go in.
