I am having massive problems with copper here, too. The iron in the water is so high you could smelt a sword out of a bucket of the stuff. Ok, maybe a bit of an exaggeration. But the iron is high because there is so much iron in the soil (iron mining is an economic powerhouse of the area, little surprise!), and places are named Iron Mountain, Iron River, Ironwood, etc.
Anyway, I copper bolus with copper oxide. I use my black goats are a barometer of sorts. And it still isn't working like I'd like. I personally just ordered some Multimin 90 from
Vetserv to give my goats an injection, a boost. Plus, if zinc is an issue, it'll give them some more of that.
Yes thanks. That sounds like what mine has. Do you think it will go a way without any injections or anything if i start giving them the loose minerals that I have been meaning to give them?
If they are getting NO loose minerals at all, then giving them access to free choice loose minerals may solve the problem. You might even want to top dress their feed with a sprinkle, to ensure they eat it. They are probably deficient if they've been getting no minerals.
