Looking into doing fodder for my goats (2 ND does, 2 LaMancha does, 2 ND bucks). What i want is to at the very least replace the grains i feed them daily, and at most replace the hay i have to buy them. Our goats have access to foraging on our property. I can't find how much of what type of fodder I would need to do this.

Would it be good to do a mix of different grains?
Could I do alfalfa fodder?
How much seed/ grown fodder would they need a day?

Thank you for any help!

the feed value of fodder is the same as the grain you sprout. don't let the weight of the fodder fool you. the weight gain is water. I have a system that produced 900 lbs of fodder a day. the fodder reduced the hay i fed my sheep by three bales of hay a day. I dont grow it any more it took three hours a day to feed and harvest the fodder. my time is worth more than the feed i got out of my system
