goat has sprained knee

Hi there, only a week to go before we go into the Trinity Alps and Gyro still has a slightly swollen front knee that he is favoring, after spraining it jumping around in the cement spool playground. I am icing it twice a day, which he likes, but was wondering if I should give him some aspirin or bute or something. And maybe I shouldn't bring him on the trip, which would be sad. He is only limping a little bit. What do y'all think, and is there an over the counter drug you recommend for minor pain/swelling?
