They will only eat what they need when they need it. I’ve been disappointed too when I’ve bought nice pails of minerals thinking my goats would love it and then never eat it. However, they go through seasons where they will love a particular mineral then never eat it again for weeks.

It is true that they may only eat them when they need them, but do they have an older goat to show them how it's done? I notice my kids always taste minerals when they see mom eating them. If not maybe get their attention and run your fingers through the minerals. The kids might get curious as to what it is you are doing and come and see for themselves.

No he is in a pen by himself. Unfortunately he is my only male and can already completely extend and I didn't want him breeding anyone. I'm gonna keep working with him. I thought about taking a half eaten tub from my doe pen to see if he would try it then instead of a brand new tub.
