Have male goat with no visible wounds and no swollen joints. He is eating, pooping and peeing. All normal things but won't stand up for very long. If any one can give me advice? Thanks, I live an hour from a vet and ours is not open one weekends.

Take his temp...it should be between 101.5 and 103.5...see if he is runny a fever...
Any snotty nose or runny eyes, coughing? is he chewing a cud? poops berries?
When he stands..is he wobbly? Staggering or just weak ? If so on all four legs or just one or two?
Check his inner lower eye lids for color...here is a link to show you how to grade his color on a chart..

Do you have whitetail deer in your area? Is your area selenium deficient?

I took his temp it is in the normal range you mentioned. No coughing or runny nose, eyes are clear. I'm not sure if we have whitetail but lots of mule. Not sure if our area is selenium defient. I think he is wobbled in all four. Thanks for replying back so quickly!!!

I would start treatment for Polio. That would be high doses of Thiamin injected. If you can't get Thiamin, you can use Fortified B Complex at a higher dose of 1cc per 20 lbs.
