First time in 40+ years and now ...
I have a young doe born on Jan. 4th, 2013. She is a big girl and so I put one of the young bucks in with her, and an older doe. She acted like she was in and the buck covered her several times.

Last week I was in the stall and I noticed her udder. What the heck? I was thinking another doe getting a huge udder months before she kids.
BUT, this little voice kept saying ... her dam has had 10 doe kids for me. NOT one has ever bagged up four months BEFORE she kidded.

So, last night I went thru all my journals to find out ... Yep, there it was in ink.
Moved Dakota to his own pen cause he was harassing the does. No one in heat.
Yeah, right.

So ... I have twin grandbabies due in early December this year. My great and wonderful plan was to dry off all the milkers and get an elderly friend to come babysit and do the feeding. But, they can't milk.

If my dates and times are right this young doe should drop around Thanksgiving.
O' well ... I've been milking two years straight anyway ... why not three!
Was in the barn last Christmas Eve kidding why should Thanksgiving be any different!

Ain't farming fun??
