My Wife and I are up early and are about to let our new goats out of the "hut" we built to keep predators away as the sun comes up. We are definitely newbies and from LA now living in Utah.... We have 2 does with her 17 day old 3 kids (kids on loan for our kids and still nursing) and another does a couple of months old. So far so good. Looks like we happened on a great site here.

We are of course very interested in the raw milk for our family and of course the goats are already making their way into our hearts.

My wife is very interested in getting a cream separator right away... and I'm trying to do a little research with mixed reviews.... seems that the Ukraine sells all of them??? Don't quite get that... I'm also sure that we are getting ahead of ourselves with the separator but my wife's type A personality has me in research mode for that (while of course there is so much else to learn). That said, does anybody like to use the separators??? and yes I'm looking all over the internet for experience too...

Thank you for a great site...

welcome i just joined yesterday myself! i would say if you planning on making lots of stuff with the milk, then Yes get cream separator, there is U.S.A ones made but your looking at $700-$800+ dollars that's why your seeing many from the Ukraine at around $100 like on ebay. i have yet to get one...(but need to) remember if you get one that plugs in you need to buy something else so the plug in works *here in the u.s.a*! Or just get a hand crank. i heard they are not as awful as it sounds but here is a hint...Many come in parts...with nothing in English so you have no idea how to put it together! thankfully someone put up a you tube video on how to do it. Google some videos. you can find reviews and more...let some other people jump in here...odds are someone owns One or two! :) welcome to the group!
