My favorite mini-mancha doe Peona passed away suddenly on Wednesday. :tear: She was a little off Tuesday night but nothing alarming, went to feed the next day and she was gone. Her babies were climbing all over her and still trying to nurse.

The kiddos are doing fine, they will be a month old on Sunday, with the weather change we have them in the garage right now, are giving them free access to hay and feed and also giving them a bottle as well.

I just could not bring myself to write about this until now, I really dont know what went wrong, I just know that I will miss her following me around wanting to be petted and loved.

OH HUN, I am so so sorry for your loss. I bet that was devastating to walk in the barn and find her.
She is in greener pastures and watching over you and her babies. She was so lucky to have you as he mom and taking such great care and loving her like you did, and she new it.

I wonder if it was that bloat again? Allison just lost one and she thinks it is to bloat also. Go hug on those babies and tell them how much you love them, mom will hear. Are you going to be able to keep one of her babies?

Thanks guys, I just cannot beleive that she is gone. She was always waiting for me wanting to be scratched and loved.

I am not sure if it was bloat or not, she was not bloated when I saw her, she was just listless, but when I found her the next day she did have foam around her mouth.

Lucky she gave me a boy and a girl, so I will be able to keep her daughter. Her son already has a wonderful home if everything works out.

I am so glad you will be able to keep her daughter. That is wonderful. If she had foam around her mouth that is a good sign of frothy bloat. I know that the bloat that is killing goats here all over CO, it hits and in a matter or 4 hours they are dead.

I know it has to be hard to not see her but she so loves you.
