What does this look like on my boer girl's neck?

The hair in the spot is short and was just like that overnight. It has stayed relatively the same size for several days now. The scabs are yellowish and crusty.

    I can't find lice--I'm not saying that I haven't missed them, but I have looked quite a bit. :)

    Recommendations anyone?

    Thanks!

Could be mites or fungal. I would treat with Ivomec and use a topical like NuStock or MTG.

May be mites, you can inject Regular Ivomec 2x three weeks apart.

Or get the vet to do a scraping to verify what it is.

    Thanks for the advice!
She is due to kid in April, would injectable Ivomec be a problem?

Ivomec is OK for pregnant goats.

Yes, I mentioned the Regular Ivomec above, it must be injected.

I would also put something topical on to help heal the skin. If it is fungal, the topicals can help that.

I hate to be a buttinski here but I was looking up the dosage on Fiasco and it stated to give it orally . I don't know what to do now :-(

Fiasco Farm has very outdated info when it comes to that stuff. I would not rely on Fiasco Farm for chemical dewormer dosages. She hasn't even owned goats in quite a while.

I like to inject Ivomec when I have exterior parasites. It gets to them quicker. You can do oral but may take more to work.

That's so weird. I was at the website reading something the other day and it was last updated in 2012.(well, at least that particular page)
That's good to know....guess she got too busy with the selling part and had to get rid of the fun part...

But she is in to herbs so she doesn't keep up on the chemical stuff.
