Hasi’s 2F udder

I put Hasi out in the big pasture today so our new doeling Pumpkin could safely be in the goat yard with the other little ones. As a side effect, Hasi was separated from her kids for twelve hours. You probably know what that means!

I’m still no expert, but I’d say for a $60 goat, this is a pretty darned decent udder! Good thing too. All that nice milk makes dealing with her ornery personality a lot more tolerable. 😆

Over five pounds of milk in twelve hours! Whee!!! I did forget to take the funnel off the jars for the weighing - whoops. So the milk itself was a little less than what the scale is saying. But still. Plenty of milk! Yay! 🥰

I just raise meat goats but seeing all that milk kind of makes me want a milk goat.. or two 🤣

That is some nice rear udder height and attachments for an inexpensive goat, and her capacity looks great too.

Well, from what I understand, her previous owner started with very cheap goats, as per a friend’s suggestion, so there wouldn’t be quite so much (financially) on the line while she started out and learned how to care for them. She got really into it and eventually was buying more expensive registered Alpines. So I believe Hasi’s mom was an Alpine Kiko cross of some kind, and her father was a quality registered buck.
