Hello from Spain!

Hola! I've been posting and getting kind and helpful responses but realised I never introduced myself. I'm Fran, a new goat-owner in Catalunya, Spain. We live off-grid and were mostly focused on food growing until our farmer neighbours asked if we could look after their herd a while as they were having a baby. Well... despite having no experience, why not? That was back in August, and since the neighbours decided they can't look after the goats any more, in December they became officially ours - just in time for kidding on New Year's Eve!

We have 7 does and three new kids, plus four merino sheep to complete the herd. The goats are probably a bit of a mix between Murciana and a very local breed, Rasquera Blanca. They're pretty rugged, that's for sure they were super easy to care for until kidding which is a whole new learning curve, I'm suddenly having to become an expert in mastitis, bottle feeding and more!
