Hello from TN!

    Hello, my name is Jason. I am a college student at the University of Tennessee at Martin with a major in Agribusiness. During my summer break, I plan on raising some goats on our land in Mississippi. I will be doing everything from fencing to taking care of the goats. This looks like a great, friendly forum to find advice. Looking forward to this experience!

    Welcome Jason! I am also in Tennessee! Boers are a very good choice but they are very high maintance. I would go with BoKis (Boer/Kiko) or even stictly kiko. I also raise Boers and BoKis and have been raising goats since 2005 but have had goats for about 10 years.

    What are the breeds you commonly see at state fairs and stuff? I plan on getting goats for land clearing purposes as well. Right now my main concern is which breed to choose.
