Dolly is major trouble and I cannot figure out why!!! Please help! She is 11 days old from triplets. I’ve been bottle feeding them a little (once a day or every other day) to help make sure everyone gets enough milk and to bond.

Last night she was perfectly fine. Running around, happy, healthy…

This morning I woke up and looked out the window and saw her laying in the field. I ran out, thinking she was dead, but when I picked her up she was alive.

She’s crying loudly and arching her neck back and moving her legs. She’s in pain, but I can’t see any wounds. She’s not breathing normal. She she’s shaking her head and struggling to breathe. There is no runny nose, no abnormal stool…

My heart is breaking. Dolly is so sweet and beautiful. Please help….

What is her temp? Does her tummy feel like she is full of milk or skinny and mushy? Any diarriah?

Soft and mushy. I can't get a reading. I think she's gotten too cold. Who knows how long she was out there in the field....

YES - if her temp will not register you must get it up immediately - NO MILK at this point. Get her on a heating pad, with hot water bottles, pushed up against both sides of her body (can use ziplock baggies if needed) and then put a towel over the top to keeep the warmth in. Then get a hairdryer and warm the towel slightly and the air around her. I put mine in front of a heater and blasted the heater.

You can also give a mixture of coffee, karo syrup (or molassas), and a touch of whiskey (not mandatory) and give by syringe - start with just a couple cc's. This will help to warm from the inside out and get the glucose levels up.

Keep me posted! my phone number is listed under emergency contacts - if I don't answer - leave a message and I will call right back

    Thank you so, so much.

So her being too cold could cause this?

It just dawned on me that it's sunday and there are no liquor sales allowed today. We don't have whiskey handy. We have some other liquor around (southern comfort, wild turkey). Could I substitute it? And do you know if they have Karo Syrup at wal-mart? If not, where could I get it?

    Any hard liquor will do.

Do you have any CD antitoxin?? I would give that as well and a heavy dose of Pen G in case it's floppy kid. And give her thiamine, if you don't have that then a lot of B-complex.

You need to get a temp on her ASAP.

If she's agonal breathing.. there isn't much you can do but make her comfotable until she passes. :(

    Got a temp. 90.2...it's so low...but it's a temp

I'll work on getting those things. I don't have any of that on hand. I'll call around to feed stores and see what I can get.

My fiance is at the feed store right now picking up supplies...but I think it may be too late.

She's gasping now, one breath every 10-15 second. She's not crying anymore and is no longer blinking or attempting to move...

I wish I could do something for her. Her breathing is so labored...

I know it probably doesn't matter much, but her temp is up to 92.7

She was perfectly fine last night, the poor thing....this is so sad

    Re: Help!!!! Emergency Doeling!!!

Fiance just arrived with coffee and supplies.

There are only 4-5 seconds between her breaths now. I don't know if it matters...

I'm going to keep trying to get her temp up. All we were able to get a hold of today was the CD Antitoxin and Pen G. Everywhere is either closed or out of Complex B.

How much CD Antitoxin and Pen G should I give her and how should I give it to her?

EDIT: Got some coffee/liquor in her. Her breathing as evened out and is almost normal now. Temp is 95.6
