Hello all,
Yesterday my nigies got into the chicken grain, I’m not sure how long for but it seems that one doe had eaten particularly more than the others and isn’t doing so well.
So she has the classic signs of bloat (not eating, laying down, distended rumen, salivating) normally I put the afflicted goats off feed if they have eaten a good amount and they do just fine but she is distinctively worse because she seems a lot more inactive and has difficulty breathing.
I administered 2 1/2 tablespoons of baking soda orally a few hours ago along with a single dose of bloat medication but nothing seems to have changed. I also had left a 16mm needle in her and that helped with the gas but now it just seems it’s just liquid.
What should I do? Should I give her milk of magnesia? Should I try walking her around/massaging her?
