I need names for my new Damara sheep! Photos are on the photogenic board ... I have a few names in mind but I am interested in what guys think. I'd like to name them by theme, but havent got anything particular in mind yet.
   OK let me think...LOL  the white beauty...I pop up with snow flake, snowball,Sweet Pea 6 yr old F3 ewe....sheila 8 yr old pure ewe ....Ashley...
Okay so I know I asked for names but ... I named them  I looked around a bit on the internet cos I wanted very much to name them by theme - my goaties I name by the letter of the year and at times it does get a bit boring. I got a list of suggestions, things I might like, then I spent some time around the sheepies today to see what their personalities are like. I went with names that would look good and are kinda fancy to go on pedigrees, because I eventually want to get into reg'd animals; but they are the kinda names that can be shortened to a call name too. I went with a Casino theme. Introducing: Pacqio Gambler's Chance - because she's the one who we arent sure about pregnancy status - so took a gamble buying her. Chancey for short Pacqio Madame Vegas - because she's a bit of a wild child party animal, and very much a little miss or madame. Vegas for short Pacqio Red Roulette - actually I dont know why I gave this one this name - just seemed to stick. Ru for short Pacqio Casino Queen - because she is the matriarch and the alpha ewe. Queen for short The list of names I came up with for lambs (some of them match the mum's names, some are generic): BOYS Gambler Dealer Ace of Spades Blackjack Casino Chip Jester Joker Russian Roulette Double or Nothing Elvis GIRLS Take a Chance Lucky Chance Chance Your Luck Lady Luck Queen of Diamonds Queen of Hearts Royale Rummy Miss Vegas Moulin Rouge I also came up with good names in Astronomy, Shakespeare, Magic/Fantasy, Music, Fashion/Designers and Alcohol. So at some point in the future I will use these themes for a batch of lambs or two.
I've already got a 'Snow' family - snow, snow white, snow bell, snow ball, snow drop, eidelweiss, snow flake ... Already got a Sweet Pea too (I think everyone has got a Sweet Pea!) But you are so so right - the 6 yr old ewe definitely looks like a 'Sheila' lol
that's good at least I got one right...LOL Sorry that you already have those names...wow ....I think we are running low on new names.... :help:
I like your choice for names, I like the first one and the fourth one the best! . These are the coolest breed of sheep I've seen!!
