The purple is old blukote, the beige above the purple is old Nustock.
We think the oozing is plasma.
Her temp was 104.3 F tonight!
I have been putting betadine on it, even under Nustock, twice a day.
Tonight I did betadine, blukote and then sprayed tea tree around, not on it, to keep her from licking. She licked it right away anyway.
I gave her 10 cloves of garlic, that was for the whole herd, but it kept her head in the grain bucket to let the blukote dry. She ate them all.
I am worried about infection. What else can I do?

She acts normal. Eats with vigour, poops and pees, looks alert.

Eeek! Poor thing!! Does not look like a hot spot to me. Where is it on the body again?

Antibiotics may be in order if temp does not go down.

Nope..doesn't look like a hot spot. ..it itches her terrible..a vet may need to look at it and take a culture. Is weather hot right now to cause higher temp?

I think tonight I would give antibiotics since she has fever and that sore looks nasty. Very red around the edges. I would wash and dry it well and re apply nustock nice and thick. Then contact your vet to see what he/she thinks.

I just checked on her, she had licked blukote all off again.
I gave her some more hay and she ate it.

I just talked to my friend.
    She can give me penicillin.
Is short acting or long acting better?

    Long acting.

May want to try an antihistamine for itching too.

I gave her Depocillin 3.5 ml per 100 lbs. IM
Will give again in morning and for 5 days.
Would you do once or twice a day for 5 days?

I cleaned it again and put on more NUstock.

Antihistamine, I have regular benadryl caplets. Would you suggest those if she is still licking by morning?

Vet is closed and doesn’t do emergencies part of the weekend.
Will go to vet Monday if not better.

Depocillin ( procaine penicillin) should be 1 cc per 20# SUB Q. No need to give IM. This is 2 times a day treatment for 5 days. Be sure to pull back the plunger to check for blood before injecting..no blood is good to go, see blood, re adjust and try again.

    benadryl Capsule will be fine..

    Good news!
This am the part that looked raw was only half the size of yesterday. Temp went down too, 102.3 F
Washed with saline again, betadine and Nustock, and then we put a T shirt on her, so it can heal without being licked. Hopefully T shirt can come off soon.
    Gave benadryl in a date.
She wasn’t obsessed with licking anymore.
