I got some good suggestions from you guys. What is wood pellet bedding?
Honestly, I would not use it. It's just want it says it is and the wrong wood can not be good not to mention your goats may eat it and that could cause issues as well. Just my thoughts. :thumb:
Are you talking about something like "Woody Pet"? I have used it underneath other bedding such as straw or pine shavings. It is in a small pellet about twice the size of a pellet in grain mixes. It does work very well with absorbing urine. It swells up and you can see as well as scoop up the wet spots. Most bedding like the pellets are made from pine dust, just compressed into pellets.
Works great for absorption, just be sure to not use it as the sole bedding because goats are curious nibblers, cover it with used hay or straw.
Liz, I didn't think about that but covering it would work. However as a sole bedding I would not go there at all. That's just me. Mind you too, that if not get changed out can be just as yucky and mushy as anything else.
