Check the roof of the mouth for a cleft palate. (Hole in roof of the mouth). You may need to tube feed her. Time is of the essence. She will die if you do not get food into her. Try different nipples. What kind do you have? Can you tie the doe up and work with the baby to make her latch onto the teat?

Also, like what was posted, has she pooped that first black tarry poop and should be transitioning to really sticky yellow or golden poop almost like chewing gum. (Yuk, sorry for the bad analogy!).

Goats Rock, the doe is just as concerned as I'm she won't leave the little doeling and she stands for her to drink but it won't nurse. I've even tried to assist.

What should the little ones temperature be?

looked it up, temp is fine 102.6

I'd be calling a vet ASAP. It could be an intestinal bug such as E. Coli, or she could have failed to pass the meconium and be blocked up. It can be very difficult to diagnose over the internet since none of us can actually see your goat, and with babies this young, time is of the essence.

A vet would be wise.

Thank you I will give it a try. My Vet is difficult to get and some miles away, and the emergency hospital does not deal with goats in my area, I lost a very costly sire last year he went down so fast, and it took so long and the drive by the time I got back he had died.

Im sorry for the loss of your sire. I agree..give that little one a enema and contact a vet.

Oh boy. Im sorry to hear that. They do tend to go down hill fast. Especially kids. If you have cd antitoxin I would give that as well. Protect against toxins that maybe building. If not you can gice 1/4cc per pound of milk of magnesia to help with toxins.

So sad.
