My name is Linda and I have 4 Nigerian Dwarfs, 2 does and 2 whether. I am new to having goats, although my husband is not, so I am reading and learning as much as I can about goats. I read that if you are feeding your goats well water, they should be supplemented with copper. What is everyone's experience with this? Thank you.

Welcome to TGS :)

Copper supplementation depends a lot on your area. What are you giving for minerals? At the very least, they should be getting free choice loose minerals. You might need to give extra copper and/or selenium depending. Well water is often high in iron, sulfur and/or molybdenum, all of which can inhibit the absorption of different minerals, most often copper and selenium.

Thank you Suzanne, They had a Billy block, but I bought loose minerals today and put out for them. I have had them a week. I bought Pro mana Goat minerals with 1350-1600 ppm of copper and 12-14 ppm selenium. They are all healthy and the one little doe is pregnant.
