Hi my name is Alyssa and I'm from NSW Australia. I don't own any goats, unfortunately, but soon I might be moving to the country and mum said I can have goats lol When I get goats I'll be sure to post lots of pictures for you. I'm interested in Australian Miniature Goats. ^^
Welcome to The Goat Spot Alyssa!! Glad to see you here....and there is so much info on everything "goat" too  I have a couple Nigerian Dwarf and a few Nigerian/Pygmy crosses, I'm curious to see what an Australian Mini looks like.
Hi Alyssa_Romine, Nice to meet you! Liz here's a Link to the MGBA (Miniature Goat Breeders Assosiation) They have the Recognised Aussie Miniature Breeds. http://www.miniaturegoatbreedersassocia ... breeds.htm They are around or under 60cm tall (maybe 25") Thanks ^_^
Thanks Alyssa! Those are really some interesting goats! The lonng eared ones resemble the mini nubians here and the "elf" eared ones are like the mini LaManchas....really cool :thumb:
where in australia i have friends in taz and western and durn i can't remember where wendy lives welcome to the goat spot and i hope your move and purchases come quickly! (we are getting ready for winter and you are getting ready for spring lucky you)
Welcome from Pennsylvania! I'm sure you'll get tired of all our questions! So, how's your weather? Seems a good topic as we wait for Ike to "cream" Texas! Are your mini goats mostly "fiber" goats? Do you have what we call Nigerian Dwarf Goats or Pygmy goats? Some of those look like Pygoras (Angora/Pygmy cross). I'm so confused!
http://myminiaturegoats.com/index.htm i am not sure but i think i heard somewhere that their mini goat is a cross of many breeds that went feral and are now domesticated again o! i see that they are miniaturizing the standard breeds the same as we are
Welcome Alyssa,,,so glad to see you here from the beautiful land of down under..... thanks for stopping in... hope to see you around "the goat spot " :stars:
woah hello everybody xD The wether is really good! But its starting to get hot in the afternoons :veryangry: HH-I'm from New South Wales Di- No we dont have pygmys and as far as i know, no nigerian dwarfs either. They were cross bred with bush goats and domestic goats and they are still in delvelopment And Im new to goats so whatever i think fiber goats are, I think some on the minis are. And everybody else thanks for posting xD It pleases me
Glad to have you here!!! I hope you get goats soon!! They are so much fun! Shh....no one tell her how addicting they are!! Your mini breeds are pretty much like ours over here...just different names.
