I noticed today that my herd queen lets her 9 months old wethered son push her away from the manger! She still lets him jump on him and loves him as her baby, but letting him push her away from the food, that really surprised me.
Otherwise, this little wether is the lowest ranking goat in the herd.
Have other people had such surprising observations?

Yep, at feeding time, some throw around their authority. ;)
I was just surprised about the little guy, who doesn't normally have any authority! But I guess mom is still tolerating it. When she really wants something, she gently pushes her face in there, but nothing like she does with the other doe.

Aww that's sweet! Isn't that what moms do for their babies?? I personally haven't sat down to dinner without getting up to get something for someone in 11 years since I had my first baby lol

I have also noticed my does tolerate their babies much more than other goats.

She still checks his hind end too, occasionally! He loves being with her!
